I. APPRENTICE

The Twelve-Inch Rule and the Common Gavel

Force, unregulated or ill-regulated, is not only wasted in the void, like that of gunpowder burned in the open air, and steam unconfined by science; but, striking in the dark, with its blows meeting only the air, it recoils and bruises itself.

Thought is a force, and philosophy should be an energy, finding its aim and its effects in the amelioration of mankind. The two great motors are Truth and Love.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

A few good questions.

Is the membership for one book or the catalog?

The entire catalog. The US$15 monthly plan gives you access to read and study every available book, without subscribing to each one separately. Card payments are securely processed by Stripe and renew monthly until you cancel.

Can I cancel whenever I want?

Yes. Cancellation stops future renewals and preserves access until the end of the paid period. Ordinary cancellation does not include a prorated refund for remaining days, without prejudice to the statutory right of withdrawal and other cases provided by law. Read the Cancellation and Refund Policy.

Which books are included?

All titles listed in the public catalog. Each listing provides the author, edition details and synopsis. Browse the catalog to see the books available when you subscribe.

How does artificial intelligence support reading?

Members can discuss the edition and generate presentations, mind maps, reports, flashcards, quizzes and tables. Chat has no daily question allowance; each tool allows four generations per book per day. Answers include references for checking but may contain inaccuracies. AI complements reading; it does not replace the text.

Are my records kept separate from other readers?

Yes. You sign in with your Google account. Notes, conversations and progress are linked to each member’s account. Learn how this information is handled in the Privacy Policy.

Does the membership include printed books?

No. Membership provides access to the digital library and study features on the website. Printed copies are not included in the plan.

Where do the books and translations come from?

The collection draws on older public-domain works, with original translations by Elizeu A. Souza. EX-LIBRIS brings this editorial work together in an environment dedicated to reading and study.
